Kendriya Vidyalaya Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan’s Kendriya Vidyalaya Tawang is a Central Government school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The Vidyalaya follows the common syllabus and curriculum prescribed for Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country.

Located in the remote north-western part of Arunachal Pradesh at an altitude of approximately 10,000 feet above sea level, Kendriya Vidyalaya Tawang was established in May 2001 during the academic session 2001–02. The initiative was taken by the then Deputy Commissioner of Tawang District, Shri Sajjan Singh Yadav.

The Vidyalaya initially functioned from a building provided by the District Administration, Tawang, with classes sanctioned up to Class VIII. Subsequently, the District Administration procured and allotted approximately 22 acres of land near Seru village for the construction of the school building and staff quarters.

The school shifted to its present building in 2006. Since then, the Vidyalaya has had adequate space and facilities to conduct academic, co-curricular, sports, and other educational activities.

Mission of the Vidyalaya
Kendriya Vidyalaya Tawang pursues the following broad objectives:

To meet the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees, including Defence and Para-military personnel, by providing a common programme of education.

To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.

To promote experimentation and innovation in education in collaboration with organisations such as CBSE and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

To develop the spirit of national integration and nurture a sense of Indian-ness among children.

Situated amidst the natural surroundings of Tawang, the Vidyalaya aims to provide quality education while fostering academic excellence, creativity, discipline, national integration, and the holistic development of its students.
